Hudson John Powell tells the tale of the famous Poole family of showmen, beginning with musicians Charles and George Walter Poole - associates of travelling panorama showman Moses Gompertz - who went on to develop their own panorama shows, supplemented with performances of Pepper's Ghost. Their entertainments went on to develop into successful spectral opera shows. Nephews of the original Poole's including Charles Poole, Junior ('Young Charlie') continued the family tradition, with panoramas and dioramas, combined with variety acts, which they called 'myrioramas'. Their children expanded the business to include early cinema screenings. TREMOUGH
