Arthur Rank, the merger of the Odeon and Gaumont chains, the post-war years, the wide screen era in the 1953-1959, cinemas with twin and triple auditoria in the mid 1965-1975, the contraction of the industry 1976-1984 and the age of the multiplex 1985-2000. The book is a celebration of cinema architecture during this period and includes many interior and exterior photographs. Other features include a list of films that received an Odeon general circuit release 1942-1979 and an A to Z of Odeon cinemas.
