This biography by Tom Dardis of the filmmaker and silent comedy actor Buster Keaton traces his early vaudeville career through to his silent comedy films, exploring the structure and technique of his films in the context of the economics of filmmaking in 1920s Hollywood. Also focuses upon the revival of Keaton within popularist and critical discourses with the rediscovery of many of his lost films in the 1960s and 1970s.
