In this unusual biography, director Wim Wenders looks at the production of Michelangelo Antonioni's 'Beyond the Clouds.' Wenders became a second director and on-set support for Antonioni during the making of this film, the latter having suffered a severe stroke that left him virtually unable to speak. Wenders recalls the process by which the film was born from Antonioni's short stories and sketches through to the problems and memories of shooting the film itself. Written in diary form, the book also includes conversations with the film's cast - John Malkovich, Sophie Marceau, Peter Weller, Irene Jacob, Jean Reno and Fanny Ardant and includes films stills and off-set photographs. Wim Wenders himself directed such films as Kings of the Road; Paris, Texas; Wings of Desire; The End of Violence and Million Dollar Hotel.
