Autobiographical memoir by Indian film director, writer, composer and artist Satyajit Ray (1921-92), describing his childhood in Calcutta and early experiences. The memoir also includes stories he wrote for the Bengali children's magazine "Sandesh" about the making of his first film "Pather Panchali (The Song of the Road)" in 1955.
