An article by Simon Hattenstone detailing the extraordinary find by collector Ray Henville of two of the earliest films made in Britain: the 1895 Derby and The Carpenter's Shop (both shot by film pioneer Birt Acres). Henvile gave the films to the BFI, and the article extensively quotes early film historian Stephen Herbert on their significance.
