Die bunte Welt des Films

German book of colour portraits of early film stars, contained in a slip-case and comprising mainly tinted studio photographs. These measure 5cm x 6cm, are of uniform appearance with a gilt edge and have been pasted onto the pages by hand. There are 26 pages with eight portraits on each, plus three pages illustrated with a full plate. The pages are made of thick card, numbered and separated with tissue paper. An alphabetical index of the portraits appears at the front of the book. The majority are German although there are French, English and American stars too, including Claudette Colbert whose portrait - from the film "Cleopatra" - is on the front cover. There is a foreword by Geza von Bolvary.
