Opening film: Celda 211 by Daniel Monzón (UK preview, followed by Q&A with the director). Closing film: Habitación en Roma (Room in Rome) by Julio Medem (followed by a Q&A). Films include Chico y Rita by Fernando Trueba and Javier Mariscal, Siete Mesas de Billar Francés (Seven Billiard Tables) by Gracia Querejeta; Io, Don Giovanny by Carlos Saura (UK premiere followed by Q&A), La Isla Interior (The Island Inside) by Dunia Ayaso and Félix Sabroso (UK premiere followed by Q&A), and La Verguenza (The Shame) by David Planell (UK premiere followed by Q&A). Catalan cinema represented by eight UK premieres, including Family Strip by Luis Miñarro. A selection of Basque cinema includes Oskar Tejedor's documentary Balenciaga, and La Máquina de Pintar Nubes (The Cloud Painting Machine) by Aitor Mazo and Patxo Tellería. Selection of documentaries including Arantxa Aguirre's El Esfuerzo y el Animo ( Of Heart and Courage), Màscares by Elisabet Cabeza and Esteve Rimbau, and Fake Orgasm by Jo Sol. Special feature on actress Maribel Verdú with screening of some of her most well-known films: El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth), La Buena Estrella (The Good Star), Oviedo Express, Siete Mesas de Billar Francés, Tetro and Y Tu Mamá También (And Your Mother Too).
