58th BFI London Film Festival programme 8 - 19th October 2014. The festival's opening night gala was The Imitation Game and the closing gala the war film Fury. Other gal screenings include Foxcatcher, Whiplash, Wild, Testament of Youth, Mike Leigh's Mr Turner, Xavier Dolan's Mommy and the archive gala is The Battle of Coronel and The Falkland Islands. Films in competition include Carol Morley's The Falling, Girlhood, Peter Strickland's The Duke of Burgundy, Leviathan and Timbuktu. There is also a first feature completion which features Yann Demarge's '71, Guy Myhill's The Goob and The Tribe and a Documentary competitions. The rest of the festival is organised into themed seasons grouping together both new and restored titles under 'Love', 'Debate', including Winterbottom's The Face of an Angel, 'Dare', Laugh, Thrill , Cult', Journey', ''Sonic' and 'Family'. Events include talks on Technicolour, production design and an interview with Frederick Wiseman.
