Box of 23 postcards showing optical illusions and similar images from 19th-early 20th century visual entertainment, including Ackerman's grotesque portrait of Napoleon, My Wife and My Mother-in-Law, reproductions of old cigarette cards, J.H. Brown's Spectral Ghosts, L'Amour de Pierrot, The Disappearing Chinaman and examples of mirror writing. In addition to a booklet of paradoxes, there is a short introduction by Jonathan Miller printed on the underside of the lid. Most of the images come from the collection of James Dalgety, founder of the Puzzle Emporium.
