Magic Lantern Slides- Miscellaneous Images

Set of magic lantern slides featuring miscellaneous images. Hand-painted illustration slides, long form, on a piece of fragile, thin glass, of several images in sequence, would have been inserted into slots in a long wooden frame. Also known as panoramic slides. The frame stays fixed in the lantern, and the glass is pushed through, stopping at each scene. Such panoramic slides were used to produce the effect of a journey moving across the various circus characters. Sequence of images on each slide include: 69526/1- image of ships on the sea with a port in sight 69526/2- Image of several men doing a multitude of actions 69526/3- Image of figures in the snow 69526/4- Image of a landscape featuring a train in the distance and a man observing the train 69526/5- Image of birds dressed as soldiers 69526/6- Image of a stork delivering babies 69526/7- Series of four images documenting the arrival into the americas 69526/8- Series of four images of varying cities 69526/9- Series of four portraits.
