Lecture script written and presented by Ralph Hyde on the subject of The Colosseum, renamed The Royal Colosseum by the 1860s. He references his published work 'The Regent's Park Colosseum.', and talks of the panorama's created and displayed in the Colosseum in the buildings touring life in the US: specifically New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia. Mr Hyde thoroughly explains the economic turmoil the panorama's undergo as well as numerous changes of ownership and reconstruction. Initially financed by Rowland Stephenson, Thomas Hornor created his view of London from St. Paul's, later renamed 'London by Day'. The architect of The Colosseum was Decimus Burton.
