Graphic novel on the life and career of the early British film pioneer Robert (R.W) Paul, written by Ian Christie and illustrated by ILYA. The book covers Paul's work for the kinetoscope, his inventions of the Theatrographe and Animatographe, his filmmaking and his friendship with H.G Wells and their discussions over a time machine. The book marks the 150th anniversary of Paul's birth and draws on Christie's academic study of his career and importance in British cinema history. The project was funded by The Nerve Centre in Northern Ireland and the book was distributed free with Sight and Sound. The inside cover features a summary of Paul's career by Ian Christie.
