Large collection of Picture Post photographs published to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the magazine's founding, drawn from throughout its twenty year publication span (1938-57) and including images of Britain during wartime, sport and leisure activities, political and cultural life, and international events such as the partitioning of India. The accompanying text explains about the significance of the magazine in the history of photojournalism and contains details about the editors, writers and photographers who contributed. One of the photographers, Bert Hardy, has signed the book with a dedication to Charles Keeble, his printer at the Grove Hardy photographic lab in Southwark for 25 years. The book has a foreword by Sir Tom Hopkinson, who worked closely with Hardy and was editor of the magazine from 1940 to 1950.
