A4 sheet typed on one side with biographical notes about Robert Burnard (1848-1920), chemist and archaeologist, as well as a prolific photographer of Dartmoor archaeological sites, landscapes and excavations. His original collection of over 700 negatives was destroyed during the Plymouth Blitz, but some 500 prints survive in four large albums belonging to his granddaughter, Lady Sylvia Sayer. These notes were probably produced to accompany the exhibition held to launch the publication of the book 'Robert Burnard's Dartmoor Pictorial Records' in 1986.
