The autobiography focuses on the career of Bill Pertwee and chronicles his early life and varied career. The book contains references to his radio broadcasts (of which he made over 1000), including the cult classics 'Beyond Our Ken' and 'Round The Horne' and his television appearances on 'Jackanory', 'Chance In a Million', Blankety Blank', 'Wogan' and 'Pebble Mill'. In addition, the book discusses his work with the BBC on 'You Rang M'lord'. The book also looks at several of his theatre appearance in 'See How They Run' and 'Worzel Gummidge' and the Ray Cooney farce, 'Run For Your Wife'. Contains black and white pictures from Pertwee's childhood of himself and family members. The book frequently refers back to Pertwee's work on 'Dad's Army' and reflects on the impact the show had both on him and British culture over its nine-year run. Foreword by Jimmy Perry.
