Wooden slide carrier. Dates to between 1890 and the early 1900s. A special slide holder, in which is fixed a glass painted or photographic slide. Used for lantern projection. Made by British manufacturer Ensign. Wooden frame slide carrier, with brass eye hole screws at each end. Maker's stamp in the middle of the slide carrier reads: British made Ensign, with union jack flag logo. Carrier for two slides, in which an inner wooden frame simply slid from side to side.
