A promotional brochure for the 'Russia in the Shadows' season which took place at the NFT between 1 October and 30 December 1997. Split into two parts (a retrospective of the years 1986-1990 and 1991-1996), the season featured a variety of Russian films, as well as some important works from Latvia, Georgia, Belorussia and Ukraine. Films screened include: 'Is it Easy to be Young?', 'Days of the Eclipse', 'The Servant', 'Our Armoured Train', 'Intergirl', 'Solovki Power', 'Prishvin's Paper Eyes' and 'Whispering Pages'. The season also included several talks, seminars and a day conference chaired by film historian Ian Christie. Alongside information and synopses for individual screenings, the brochure also includes general information about NFT membership, how to book tickets and travel advice for visitors.
