Memoir written in alternate chapters by Martin Sheen and his eldest son Emilio Estevez, looking back on the development of their relationship against the progress of their respective acting careers. As a child, Emilio travelled to film locations including Mexico (for Catch-22), the Philippines (Apocalypse Now) and India (Gandhi), and the book covers the experience of both father and son during these journeys, including their deepening interest in humanitarian projects and political activism, Martin Sheen's return to Catholicism, and their pilgrimage through Spain on the Camino de Santiago route.
