Account by Michael E. Birdwell of the efforts by the Warner Bros. film studio, headed by Polish-Jewish immigrants Harry and Jack Warner, to alert America of the danger posed by Hitler and the conflict in Europe. The studio produced a series of films in the 1930s and early 1940s designed to inform and influence the national conscience, chief among them 'Sergeant York', based on the life of WWI war hero Alvin C. York. Other films produced by Warner Bros. in this context included 'Black Legion' and 'Confessions of a Nazi Spy.'
