This book by Paul Tritton explores the making of "A Canterbury Tale", Powell and Pressburger's wartime feature. Constructed from photographs and comments from the cast and crew that worked on the film, this book runs a retelling of the narrative alongside detailed behind-the-scenes insight from the people on set, from those who witnessed filming to the filmmakers themselves, and extensive location photography, alongside "then and now" shots of the films location. The book also contains the film's premiere in 1944 and revival in 1978, the Cathedral set built at Denham film studios and an exploration of the early life of Michael Powell.
