"Churches" lantern slides

A selection of (11) black and white photographic slides of various church-related scenes, some of which are hand-tinted. The slides seem to originate from a number of sets, now boxed together under common theme. 81 x 81mm. Two hand-tinted photographic slides of a cathedral entrance and an interior (the latter labelled 'Trondheim, Norway'), are attributed to 'Arthur Malden's Lectures'. Malden was a famous lantern lecturer working in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, a travelogue showman who toured the country and Europe, a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, and one of the first lecturers to use synchronised lectures using the lantern and the cinematograph.
