Comprehensive study by Mindy Johnson of the role of women in the history of animation in general and within Walt Disney in particular. The study moves chronologically decade by decade from the hand colouring of film prints in the 1890s through to the digital innovations and techniques of the 1980s, focusing in detail on changing practices and the contributions of some of the many women involved at each stage. The study also includes a gallery of Disney's female artists with photographs, dates and individual responsibilities. Part 2 is an article in 'The Lady' 13/04/2018 by Melonie Clarke inspired by 'Ink and Paint', which interviews author Mindy Johnson and highlights the work of women animators at Walt Disney featured in the book such as Hazel Sewell, Kathleen Dollard, Margaret Winkler, Mary Weiser, Dorothy Ann Blank and Retta Scott.
