Visual companion by Mark Salisbury and edited by him, Holly C. Kempf and Leah Gallo, to the 2010 film 'Alice in Wonderland', directed by Tim Burton and starring Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. The book examines the concept artwork, set and costume designs for the film. Individual chapters focus on topics including the original novel and the reimagining for the Burton production, the search for the actress to play Alice, central characters such as the Mad Hatter and Red Queen, the creation of Wonderland, the complex visual effects such as the use of CGI and after completion of the film. The book is profusely illustrated, with an index. There is a foreword by Tim Burton.
