Film programme for the 2018 Japan Foundation Touring Film, running between February 2nd to March 28th 2018. The programme is titled '(Un)true Colours: Secrets and Lies in Japanese Cinema' and the programme states that the collection of films look at how Japanese filmmakers "have been drawn to portraying the "(un)true" colours of human nature." The programme features a range of films from 1957-2017, however there is a particular focus on contemporary Japanese literature in film titled 'Japan Now'. 'Japan Now' features the film 'Birds without Names' (2017), directed by Kazuya Shiraishi, and a symposium with speakers from the Japanese film industry. The front cover of the programme displays an illustration of two faces, and the back side of the programme features the locations for the event, including the Exeter Phoenix.
