Still from the 1962 Italian drama film 'L'Eclisse' (A.K.A. 'The Eclipse'). Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni and starring Alain Delon and Monica Vitti, the story follows a young woman who pursues an affair with a confident young stockbroker. It was filmed on location in Rome and Verona, and is considered the third in a trilogy including 'L'Avventura' and 'La Notte'. In the still, a woman (Vitti) sits at the bottom of the frame on a sofa, her head and shoulders visible, as she stares ahead. Above her, a painting or mirror hangs that shows another woman stood, in shadow. Townly has made notes on the reverse, including the distributor, Gala Film Distributors Ltd.
