'Back to Bury Park' Article on 'Blinded by the Light' The Guardian 6 July 2019

Article in The Guardian by writer Sarfraz Manzoor about the adaptation of his memoir, 'Greetings from Bury Park' into a new film, 'Blinded by the Light', directed by Gurinder Chadha. The memoir recalls his 1980s upbringing in the Muslim community in Luton and his obsession with the music of Bruce Springsteen and the article reflects on social and political changes from that time to the 1990s when he wrote the book and the present day and on the process of fictionalising his life for the film and adapting the story for the screen.
