Facsimile reprint of W.K.L. Dickson's 1895 illustrated history of early cinema, describing his work with Thomas Edison in developing the kinetograph (for photographing moving pictures), the kinetoscope (for viewing them) and the kinetophonograph (which combined music or sound effects with the moving image). The facsimile was made from one of Dickson's own copies and reproduces his handwritten notes.
