The Filoscope was a compact, encased flipbook (or flick book) device, like a miniature Kinora, consisting of 190 frames from an existing film. It was invented by Henry (Harry) Short and marketed from 1898. This one shows the opening section of "The Soldier's Courtship" - filmed by R.W. (Robert) Paul in April 1896.
