This is a tie-in edition of the novel Carol written by Patricia Highsmith. It tells a lesbian love story between a sales assistant and a suburban housewife in the 1950s in New York. When the book was first published in 1952, it was named The Price of Salt. On the front page features an image of the film, Carol, adapted from this novel. The film was directed by Todd Haynes, starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.
