An essay written to coincide with the rerelease of Disney's Cinderella (1950) in 1992, which was the first film since Bambi in 1942, with a continuous narrative. Allan states that it was to keep public demand that the studio returned to this formula, and lead to an increase in confidence in the quality of the Disney film, and the creation of Disneyland.
