A biography by Mark Simpson of Scottish character actor, Alistair Sim, star of a number of classic comedies such as The St.Trinians films, Scrooge and An Inspector Calls. contains original contributions from approximately 30 actors, including Sir Ian McKellen and Ronnie Corbett. There are interviews with such figures as the playwright Christopher Fry, television producer John Howard Davies, and a selection of actors who appeared on stage with Sim from as far back as the 1940s. This book also examines Alistair Sim's life off screen, including his marriage, his career as an elocution teacher, his extensive work on stage, and his refusal to sign autographs. There is a section of colour and black white illustrations of Sim's life and career.
