Film still from "The Final Cord" (1936) ("Schlußakkord"), also known as "Final Chord" and "Ninth Symphony." The photograph shows Hanna Müller (Mária Tasnádi Fekete) and Music Conductor Garvenberg (Willy Birgel) talking to her biological and his adopted son, Peter (Peter Bosse). In his nursery, Peter stands by a puppet theatre while adults and soft toys are seated in chairs. The film was directed by Douglas Sirk (Detlef Sierck), known for his melodramas. The film is about a poor German woman, Hanna, who gives up her child to move to America but later returns to work as a nanny for her son's adoptive family.
