One of the staples of any film memorabilia collection is the film still, and the Bill Douglas Centre is no exception. Most of the 6300 photographs in the collections are stills from films, while a high proportion of the remainder are portrait images of film stars. There are a small number of very early photographs, including one daguerreotype, marking the importance of the early years of photography in the evolution of the moving image.
The collection contains over 4000 stills from films, pictures of film stars, and miscellaneous photographs from around the world.
