The smell of the popcorn; the swell of the music; the thrill of the action … whether it’s the latest superhero movie or a classic rom-com, who doesn’t like a visit to the cinema? This year, the Bill Douglas Cinema Museum in Exeter turns 25 and we are inviting young people to help us celebrate the anniversary through our competition ‘A trip to the Cinema’.
Can you remember the first time you went to the cinema? Or the time you went and something unusual happened? Or a time that was particularly special because of who you went with?
If so, if you are under 18, we’d like to hear from you about the magic of cinema.
Your entry can take whatever form you like. It could be:
- A piece of writing (no more than 500 words)
- A poem (no more than 20 lines)
- A painting
- A drawing
- A graphic story
- A photograph or series of photographs
- A short film (no more than five minutes)
It’s up to you!
First prize will receive £100 in cinema vouchers; second prize will receive £50 in cinema vouchers, for a cinema of your choosing.
Please send your entry to [email protected] by 5pm Friday 21st October, including your name, your age and where you live.
Winners will be notified by the end of October.
Good luck!
