Unfortunately the new national lockdown means that we have been unable to reopen our galleries to the public as planned at the beginning of 2021 and we are now closed until further notice. According to the government road map published in late February, museums may be allowed to open after 17th May 2021. We will update on this site. Apologies for any inconvenience
We are able to offer limited access to the Special Collections reading room for researchers to consult the collection. You can find details on booking here. We can also answer enquiries - please email us.
Here is a wonderful circular cigarette card in the collection of Joan Crawford from the early 1930s to try and cheer us up in these grim times.
