New educational resources for teachers and school pupils at all levels on the Bill Douglas Cinema Museum are now available to download.
The newly released Education Pack offers schools new curriculum-focused routes into the museum’s extensive collection, covering subject areas from science and technology to art and humanities. Designed both to engage school groups during tours of the museum and to inspire activities in the classroom, it focuses on themes which run throughout the exhibitions, such as animation, merchandising, and the history of cinema. Of course, visiting the museum is a must for school pupils learning about film and media, but the new Education Pack demonstrates many more direct links between the collection and the current national curriculum for both primary and secondary education. The collection can also be used for topics on art and design, nineteenth and twentieth century history, and science projects on light, colour and movement.
