We have a great new temporary exhibition in the museum on German Expressionist Films, curated by A Level Film Studies students from Exeter College. Each year teachers from the course send us digital exhibitions that teams of students have created. We then choose the one that we think will work best with our collections and the students from that group come to the museum and curate a physical display for the public. This year Adela, AJ, Darcie, and Millie chose to explore the world of German expressionism, concentrating on the key films of The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, Metropolis and Nosferatu and the UFA studios where many of the expressionist films were made. They were excited by seeing original artefacts from the period and to track the legacy of expressionism on contemporary films.
Many thanks to Adela, AJ, Darcie, and Millie, who have done a great job, and to their teachers at the College.
