Mahmut, a 40 year old independent photographer, is a "village boy made good" at least professionally in the big city - Istanbul in this case. This film follows the relationship between the idependent photographer and his cousin - a manual labourer left behind in the village. This film was directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan in 2002 and won the Grand Prix and Joint Winner for Best Actor awards at Cannes 2003. Publicity postcard for UK release in 2004 through Artificial Eye.
