Illustrated lecture given in 1948 by Marcel Lareau on the history of the Robert-Houdin Theatre in Paris, owned by pioneer filmmaker George Melies, with an English translation from 1968. Nine illustrations in black and white are reproduced in both editions. The French lecture is printed in an 8-page stapled leaflet; the English version comprises 12 pages in a card sleeve, on the front cover of which is a woodcut from a bookplate of M. Laureau.
