Catalogued for an exhibition of film costumes displayed inside Worcester Cathedral between August 15th and September 6th 2009. As befits the surroundings, the costumes chosen are mostly from historical films, including various Merchant Ivory productions and dramatisations of Jane Austen's novels, but also The White Countess, House of Mirth, Atonement, Evita and Pirates of the Caribbean. The catalogue includes photographs of around 100 costumes, each with descriptive text, as well as short essays on topics such as ecclesiastical errors in historical films, the off-screen life of theatrical costumes, and the work of costume prop suppliers.
