Issue 61 (2008) of the journal 'Resources for American Studies', a publication produced by the British Association for American Studies' Library and Resources Sub-Committee, which aims to 'bring together those who work in libraries with American Studies interests, to advise on library provision for American Studies and to initiate and co-ordinate bibliographic projects for scholars and librarians working in the field.' This particular issue is of relevance to the collection for the fact that it contains a contribution from the curator of the Bill Douglas Cinema Museum, Dr Phil Wickham, who highlights how the museum's collection can be utilised for American Studies through a whole range of items connected to the history of cinema and popular culture in America, as well as a number of items which 'form a fascinating discourse on how America has been understood and perceived, celebrated and blamed, when refracted through other cultures, particularly Britain.' Other contributors include Luke McKernan who surveys UK film and TV resources for American Studies, Donald Tait, who looks at cinema podcasts and a look at the home movie archive at the University of Massachusetts.
