Originally produced to accompany a 4-CD box set of Buster Keaton's short films, 1917-1923 (not present here), this book includes a detailed discussion and analysis of the 32 films presented on the CDs as well as Keaton's own memories (as recoded in an interview at Columbia University in November 1958) of his vaudeville childhood, Roscoe Arbuckle, making films and the end of silent films. There is also 'From human mop to Stoneface' (an extract from Keaton's autobiography) and an illustrated feature on Keaton's Italian Villa home in Beverly Hills.
