An original page from 'The Illustrated London News', 1851 which discusses the exhibition of 'Our Native Land', a diorama exhibited at the Gallery of Illustration, Regent Street in 1851. The newspaper talks of a fear of an "absence of topographical reference" which detracts from the interest of the diorama. It then refers to the diorama as "an excellence" and "laudable attempts made to elevate the taste of the public." Included in the newspaper article is a copy of "The Sir Roger De Coverley" dance which forms part of the diorama display.
