A Film for the 20th Anniversary of The Bill Douglas Cinema Museum

 Open call for filmmakers

We are announcing a filmmaking competition to celebrate 20 years of The Bill Douglas Cinema Museum. We are looking for filmmakers to create short films which are inspired by either the collections of the museum or the films of Bill Douglas. There is a prize of £300 for the film judged to be the best submission and it will be shown at a reception to mark the museum’s anniversary on 2 November 2017.

The museum contains over 75,000 artefacts covering over 300 years of moving image history and is the premier film museum in the UK.  It was founded from the collection of legendary filmmaker Bill Douglas, a director dedicated to the power of the image.

You can find out more about us and our collections at our website www.bdcmuseum.org.uk. You can find out more about Bill Douglas at http://www.bdcmuseum.org.uk/about/ and you can access his films either on DVD distributed by the BFI or at http://player.bfi.org.uk/

The museum’s galleries in Exeter, are free and open every day from 10am to 5pm.
