Text from the accompanying booklet: Although the houses in the main streets of towns in India are kept in some sort of repair, those in the side streets and poorer districts get very little attention, and many of them become derelict, yet even these tumble-down places are often occupied. What has been said earlier concerning balancing loads on the head is here confirmed: although these flat baskets are empty it is just as difficult to carry a light as heavy article poised inthis way, but a pad or cushion is generally used to make some sort of seating for the load.
