Two promotional flyers for the UK-based Chaplin Society described as 'an international community of Charlie Chaplin enthusiasts'. Featuring an image of Chaplin's iconic tramp character, the first flyer provides general information about the society which was formed in April 1999 by Chaplin biographer David Robinson, film historian Kevin Brownlow and Chaplin devotee Stephen Burstin. The flyer offers information about the society's events, magazine and details of how to become a member (£15 for UK members £16 for international members). The rear side of the flyer includes an application form below the caption 'Join Now! and avoid the (Gold) rush'. The second flyer is a programme of events for the Chaplin festival which was organised by the Chaplin society and took place in 2000. The festival included a welcome from society chairman Stephen Burstin, screenings of 'A Night in the Show' and 'A Woman', a lecture/show given by Chaplin's composer Eric James titled 'A Tribute to Chaplin', a conversation with 'Dinky' Dean Riesner who, as a child, starred alongside Chaplin in 'The Pilgrim', newsreel footage featuring the actor and a screening of 'Easy Street'. The rear side of this flyer features a questionnaire asking attendees about their experience of the festival.
