Book in the BFI TV classics series by Stella Bruzzi on the ITV documentary series, Seven Up, which followed a group of British people each seven years from when they were seven years old. Originally a World in Action episode in 1964, the series was developed by one of the original researchers, Michael Apted, who became a leading Hollywood film director, until his death in 2021. Bruzzi looks at Seven Up's production history, its place within British documentray history, and analyses the themes the series raises around class and a changing Britain and the real people it featured.
